IGH Spartan Girls & Boys Basketball (Grades 3 – 8)

 

  • Philosophy (per IGH Traveling Basketball Associations By-Laws, Policies and Procedures): 
    • Provide an opportunity for players who have developed fundamental skills to compete at an advanced level of competition and sportsmanship.      
    • Emphasize practice time, teamwork and best effort as a means to develop and enhance fundamental skills.
    • Require as a prerequisite that players possess a level of fundamental skills commensurate with their age group.
  • Commitments of IGH Basketball:
    • Season runs from mid-October through mid-March
    • 2 practices a week
    • 4 – 8 weekend tournament (varies by grade)
      • Tournaments generally in metro area (parent’s/guardian’s responsibility to provide/arrange transportation to and from tournaments)
      • Travel requirement in past have been as close as Eagan with the furthest distance being St Cloud 
      • Some tournaments charge gate fees to attend games ($5 - $7 per day)  
  • $300 volunteer deposit required for 1 Child- $500 Volunteer deposit for 2 or more children in the program.
    • This $300/$500 check is only cashed if  volunteer requirements are not met. The volunteer requirement is a 4 hour volunteer shift for 1 child or an 8 hour shift for 2 or more children at the Inver Grove Heights hosted tournament (head coach and ONE assistant coach are exempt from volunteer hours for one child). $500 max per family for those who have more than 1 child in the program. 

Registration Fees

 

IGH Basketball Association provides registration once per year from mid-July to mid-September for the Fall/Winter season of basketball.

The following registration fees apply for the 2023-2024 season and due at the time of registration via credit card or ACH:

  • 3rd grade: Registration fee is $150
  • 4th grade: Registration fee is $225
  • 5th grade: Registration fee is $295
  • 6th-8th grades:  Registration fee is $345

This year we will be offering a payment plan for all families. For those who select this option at the time of registration there will still be an initial partial payment of $100 due at checkout time. Please note that there will be a processing fee added to each payment.

REMINDER: Registration fees DO NOT COVER uniform costs

 


How Registration Fees are spent by IGH Basketball Association

 

IGH Basketball Association is committed to offer reasonable registration fees for the value of a positive and developmental player experience.

The largest portion of registration fees covers tournament entry fees and practice facility rental. Other costs consists of the following: offset cost of uniforms, warm up shirts, basketball equipment, tryouts, and overhead.

The player fee includes a minimum level of tournaments for each grade, facilities for two practices per week, shooter shirt, and use of equipment.

IGH Basketball Association hosts one tournament each year.  We constantly strive to keep fees affordable for all families while providing a quality developmental basketball experience for each participant. 

Refund Policy

 

Once Player Evaluations are completed and teams are formed, registration fees are non-refundable.  Registration fees will be refunded only in the event a player does not get assigned to a team.  For players who make a team, there will be no refund after Player Evaluations unless the board decides otherwise. There will be no refunds to players who are dismissed from a team for any reason during the season.

Scholarships

Please know that we do our best to provide scholarships for as many players as possible. However, due to circumstances of the past couple seasons, our scholarship funds are not what they used to be.

We will take all applications into consideration, but please be prepared to cover some, or all, of the fees for this season. We do encourage you to also look into outside funding opportunities such as grants through Dick's Sporting Goods.

The DEADLINE for submitting a scholarship application is September 6, 2023. We will inform you if we are able to provide financial assistance within 3 days of the deadline. Then you will complete the registration process at that time.
